Huawei Mate 9 Cases Coming Soon…
With the announcement of the new Huawei Mate 9 in Munich last week, we’re busy making preparations for a range of cases that will provide the kind of protection you’ll need for this luxury device.
The Mate 9 is Huawei’s highest spec phone yet and is intended to rival the success of the iPhone 7 and possibly fill the gap left by the ill fated Samsung Note 7.
We’ve put together an at a glance overview of the features the new phone has to offer…
Faster than iPhone 7 Plus
The Mate 9 runs on the Kirin 960 multi-core processor which Huawei claims can outperform all other processors on the market, including the iPhone 7 Plus. The company have introduced new smart logic that can prioritize apps based on how you use them, so it won’t slow down over time like most Android devices do. They claim that after 16 months of use the phone will be 80% faster than it’s rivals. Time will tell on this one!
The Mate 9 offers a suped-up version of the dual-camera in the Huawei P9. It’s designed to provide more vivid colors and enhance the finer details in your pics.
They’ve also upgraded the bokeh feature which no instagrammer should be without! This is the effect that sharpens the object at the front of the picture and makes the background blurry. Now you can choose the level of blurriness using a slider and also apply it after you’ve taken the picture.
For those who use a lot of video, file sizes have now been compressed by up to 50% to conserve storage space.
Super fast charging
The Mate 9 uses Huawei’s SuperCharge. It charges four times faster than the iPhone 7 Plus and 50% faster than the Mate 8. The company also made a point of claiming that it’s super safe, so no explosions here! The one downside is that it needs a special cable and charger so you can’t use the generic charger you already have at home.
Easier to use (3 steps or less)
The Mate 9 uses Android 7.0 Nougat and EMUI5 which is the latest version of Huawei’s own operating system. The two platforms have simplified 90% of tasks into 3 steps or less meaning your phone should be quicker and easier to use. It also has a miss-touch feature that avoids triggering unwanted processes when you accidentally touch the screen.
Large screen display
At 5.9 inches the display is slightly bigger than the Note 7 but doesn’t quite match it in terms of resolution at only 1080p LCD.
Screen resolution along with waterproofing are maybe two features that could be improved in this otherwise super high spec device.
New products arriving soon…
The Huawei Mate 9 will be available in Europe in early December and the US shortly after.
Terrapin will be releasing it’s range of cases for the new device in the coming weeks, we’ll keep you posted!
